JOB DESCRIPTIONS:

We are urgently looking for the qualified Broker Manager to start working ASAP.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;

  • Must have Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Risk Management, or Insurance (advantageous)
  • Must have RE5, RE1, and relevant FAIS credits
  • Must have NQF Level 4 or 5 in Insurance

REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:  

The applicant must have the following skills and competences

  • Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience in the insurance industry
  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience managing brokers or sales teams
  • Must have strong track record in driving business growth against measurable targets
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and develop growth opportunities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of short-term insurance products, regulations, and broker models
  • Must have strong leadership, coaching, and people management capability
  • High level of involvement in client problem-solving and relationship management
  • Must have excellent negotiation, business development, and stakeholder management skills
  • Bilingual (Afrikaans & English)
  • Must have strong analytical ability with high attention to detail
  • Resilient, adaptable, and commercially focused
  • Proficient in MS Office

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:

  • To lead, manage, and oversee a team of brokers
  • Drive new business acquisition with clear growth targets linked to broker performance
  • To develop and implement strategic plans to expand the broker network, including identifying new markets and sourcing new brokers
  • To provide direction on where and how the portfolio can grow sustainably
  • To set performance targets, monitor progress, and ensure accountability
  • To conduct performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring to support broker development
  • To oversee commission structures and incentive frameworks to drive results
  • Work closely with brokers to execute sales strategies for client acquisition and retention
  • To build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Act as an escalation point for complex client and broker-related issues
  • Be actively involved in problem-solving and operational decision-making
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, ensuring renewals are completed accurately and timeously
  • To stay informed on insurance products, pricing, legislation, and market trends
  • To provide product training, guidance, and sales support to brokers
  • Liaise with insurers to negotiate competitive products and favorable terms
  • Monitor portfolio performance, analyze financial metrics, and report to senior management
  • To represent Galinco Risk Services at industry events and networking forums
  • To oversee risk identification, assessment, and mitigation within the portfolio
