JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
We are urgently looking for the qualified Broker Manager to start working ASAP.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
The applicant wishing to apply for this job must meet the following qualifications;
- Must have Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Risk Management, or Insurance (advantageous)
- Must have RE5, RE1, and relevant FAIS credits
- Must have NQF Level 4 or 5 in Insurance
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
The applicant must have the following skills and competences
- Must have minimum of 5 years’ experience in the insurance industry
- Must have at least 3 years’ experience managing brokers or sales teams
- Must have strong track record in driving business growth against measurable targets
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and develop growth opportunities
- Comprehensive knowledge of short-term insurance products, regulations, and broker models
- Must have strong leadership, coaching, and people management capability
- High level of involvement in client problem-solving and relationship management
- Must have excellent negotiation, business development, and stakeholder management skills
- Bilingual (Afrikaans & English)
- Must have strong analytical ability with high attention to detail
- Resilient, adaptable, and commercially focused
- Proficient in MS Office
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will have to implement the following duties but not limited to:
- To lead, manage, and oversee a team of brokers
- Drive new business acquisition with clear growth targets linked to broker performance
- To develop and implement strategic plans to expand the broker network, including identifying new markets and sourcing new brokers
- To provide direction on where and how the portfolio can grow sustainably
- To set performance targets, monitor progress, and ensure accountability
- To conduct performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring to support broker development
- To oversee commission structures and incentive frameworks to drive results
- Work closely with brokers to execute sales strategies for client acquisition and retention
- To build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
- Act as an escalation point for complex client and broker-related issues
- Be actively involved in problem-solving and operational decision-making
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, ensuring renewals are completed accurately and timeously
- To stay informed on insurance products, pricing, legislation, and market trends
- To provide product training, guidance, and sales support to brokers
- Liaise with insurers to negotiate competitive products and favorable terms
- Monitor portfolio performance, analyze financial metrics, and report to senior management
- To represent Galinco Risk Services at industry events and networking forums
- To oversee risk identification, assessment, and mitigation within the portfolio
